2. Age Requirements

Semeion is intended for individuals aged thirteen (13) years or older. No person under the age of thirteen may use the Application. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least thirteen years of age. If a user under the age of thirteen is discovered, the account will be deleted, and all associated data removed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

3. Description of the Service

Semeion is an educational language-learning platform designed to provide linguistic content, spaced-repetition learning tools, and performance tracking. The Service does not provide legally certified translation services, immigration advisory services, psychological counselling, or any form of professional consultation. The Application is provided for personal educational purposes only.

4. Account Creation and Responsibility

To use Semeion, you may be required to create an account using a valid email address and password. You agree that you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. Any activity carried out under your account will be considered your responsibility. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in abuse, fraudulent use, data scraping, hacking, or violations of these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property associated with Semeion, including but not limited to the user interface, layout, design, database structures, learning algorithms, content, translations, taxonomies, spaced-repetition categories, software code, trademarks, brand materials, and any accompanying documentation, is owned exclusively by Semeion Ltd or licensed to Semeion Ltd. Users receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service solely for personal learning purposes.

Users may not copy, modify, distribute, publish, extract, store, reverse engineer, resell, scrape, mine, or commercially exploit the Service or any component thereof. Any unauthorised reproduction, commercialisation, or data extraction, including mass copying of lexicon entries or study data, is strictly prohibited.

6. User Conduct

Users agree not to engage in behaviour that harms or disrupts the Service, including harassment of other users, unlawful content submissions, attempts to bypass access controls, interference with system operations, automated data extraction, database scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorised access to server resources. Accounts may be terminated without notice if behaviour violates this section or any applicable law.

7. Payments and Premium Features

Semeion may offer optional paid features or subscription plans. All financial transactions are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store. Semeion Ltd does not receive or store payment card information. Refunds, payment disputes, billing issues, or chargebacks are governed by Apple's terms and conditions and Apple's refund policies. Users must contact Apple directly for billing disputes or refund requests. Semeion reserves the right to modify, add, or discontinue premium features at any time, with or without notice.

8. Availability of the Service

We aim to maintain continuous access to Semeion, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be suspended temporarily for maintenance, updates, or due to technical issues. We may modify or discontinue features, interfaces, or functionalities at our discretion. We are not liable for service interruptions, temporary unavailability, performance degradation, or data access limitations.

9. Changes to Features or Pricing

We may introduce new pricing structures, promotional offers, or feature changes at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes have been implemented constitutes acceptance of such changes.

10. Privacy

Processing of personal data is governed by the Semeion Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Application, you accept the terms of the Privacy Policy, including the lawful bases for processing, data access procedures, erasure procedures, and data hosting practices. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy shall prevail.

11. Termination of Account

You may terminate your account at any time by following in-application procedures or by requesting account deletion via email. When an account is terminated, data is deleted pursuant to retention rules described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate or suspend accounts at our discretion if they violate these Terms, present security risks, engage in unlawful behaviour, or attempt to exploit the Service.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Application will be free from defects, errors, security incidents, interruptions, inaccuracies, or performance variations. The educational content is provided for personal information only and does not guarantee language proficiency outcomes, examination outcomes, professional qualifications, or accuracy of translations or semantic associations.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Semeion Ltd shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, emotional distress, reputational damages, data loss, inability to access learning data, device damages, or inaccuracies in educational content. Semeion Ltd's total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by the user for the Service during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or zero (0) pounds if the Service is provided free of charge.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Amendments to These Terms

We may update or amend these Terms from time to time to reflect legal changes, service updates, or technological developments. Updated Terms take effect from the date of publication. Continued use of the Service after such amendments constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the user and Semeion Ltd concerning the use of the Service, superseding any prior agreements, communications, or understandings relating to the Application.
